This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare and draft probate petitions, pleadings, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and related court submissions.
• Oversee probate matters from the initiation of the estate to the final distribution and closure.
• Draft and modify estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other related materials.
• Create correspondence, engagement letters, and maintain client communications.
• Coordinate with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, financial institutions, title companies, and court personnel.
• Track court deadlines and ensure accurate case calendars are maintained.
• Organize and uphold electronic client files and legal records.
• Assist attorneys in collecting estate assets, preparing inventories, and arranging supporting documentation.
• Schedule client meetings and aid in managing the attorney's calendar.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Probate Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
• Extensive experience managing probate administration from the opening of an estate through to final closure.
• Proficiency in drafting probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and related court filings.
• Experience in estate planning, including the drafting of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and similar documents.
• Strong knowledge of probate court procedures and filing requirements.
• Experience in direct communication with clients, courts, financial institutions, and fiduciaries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Outstanding organizational, proofreading, and time management skills.
• Capability to independently prioritize multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software such as Clio, MyCase, or comparable platforms.
• Familiarity with New York law is essential.
• Knowledge of electronic court filing systems.
• Experience in trust administration.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting.
• Must be a resident of the United States.
