This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate and conduct quality assurance on AI-agent deployments in Financial Forecaster in comparison to the actual model and source documents.
• Assess whether agents are utilizing the appropriate scenario, account, coordinate, accounting basis, conclusion, and deliverable.
• Recognize failure modes and tasks that are overly simplistic or solvable without the use of Financial Forecaster.
• Enhance task prompts and seeded environments to accurately represent authentic FP&A and lender-reporting activities.
• Revise grading criteria to ensure that correct responses are accepted while incorrect responses are rejected.
• Identify gating failures, such as incorrect scenarios or vintages, wrong accounting basis, excluded add-backs, unwritten model corrections, and conclusions suggested by source documents.
• Detect plausible yet incorrect answers that involve incorrect grain or inconsistencies across reporting packs.
• Participate in projects focused on training and improving AI systems for Mercor and its AI-lab and enterprise partners.
• Regular use of Financial Forecaster, at least weekly, as part of current or recent professional roles.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in FP&A, financial reporting, technical accounting, lender reporting, treasury, or controllership.
• Background as an FP&A analyst/manager, financial reporting analyst, technical accounting analyst, treasury/lender-reporting analyst, or controller.
• Proficiency in navigating multidimensional models, dimensions, account hierarchies, and exact-grain cube slices.
• Capability to create, configure, identify, and lock scenarios, with an understanding of parent inheritance and forecast vintage.
• Ability to differentiate between input accounts and calculated accounts and determine when to edit formulas versus override assumption cells.
• Experience importing actuals and driver data through CSV files with the correct units and scale.
• Familiarity with scenario notes, driver notes, policy notes, planning notes, assumption change logs, and variance commentary.
• Ability to recognize tasks and outputs that Financial Forecaster cannot produce.
• Proficient in reading models, reporting packs, scenarios, overrides, and inherited values.
• Ability to trace reported figures back to their account, scenario, and coordinate, distinguishing genuine tie-outs from coincidences.
• Knowledge of entity, department, segment, consolidated, product, region, time, and facility dimensions.
• Understanding of covenant mechanics, including frozen GAAP, test periods, fixed charge coverage, total net leverage, EBITDA add-backs and caps, funded indebtedness, borrowing base, eligible accounts, redetermination, and compliance certificates.
• Knowledge of parent/child scenarios, consolidated versus entity results, and the implications of amendments, consents, or waivers.
• Familiarity with GAAP, non-GAAP, covenant measures, non-GAAP reconciliation, AICPA PFI guidance, ASC 205-40, ASC 280, SAB 99 / Topic 1M, Release 33-10751, and Reg S-K Item 303.
• Ability to identify the correct document types and fulfill deliverables accurately.
• Familiarity with scenario creation and locking, saved views, and exports for large result sets.
• Sound judgment regarding accuracy and completeness, including identifying plausible-but-wrong responses.
• Bonus: experience in credit agreement compliance and borrowing base reporting; going concern or impairment analysis; segment reporting; SEC reporting or disclosure committee involvement; practical experience across multiple models and entities.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be eligible to work without H1-B or STEM OPT sponsorship.
• Fully remote position with flexible scheduling options.
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early based on requirements and performance.
• Weekly payment options via Stripe or Wise.
• Competitive compensation.
• Collaboration with leading researchers in the field.
• Opportunity to influence the development of next-generation AI systems.
• Referral bonuses of up to $440 for each successful referral (restrictions may apply).
