This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Collaborate with the founding Account Executive as the designated technical lead for North American opportunities.
• Conduct technical discovery that encompasses models, workloads, latency, throughput, expenses, and constraints.
• Design and implement proofs of concept and benchmarks against existing solutions.
• Create the demo environment and develop reusable technical resources.
• Manage technical objection resolution related to performance, reliability, cost, security, and data management.
• Provide technical insights to product development and engineering teams.
• Lead architecture reviews, live demonstrations, and sessions with working code.
• Develop migration strategies from closed-model APIs to open weights.
• Execute benchmarks and generate analyses for throughput, latency, and cost-per-token.
• Define and carry out POCs with established technical success criteria.
• Craft technical portions of proposals, RFP responses, and security questionnaires.
• Assist with onboarding and initial production workloads, subsequently transitioning for further expansion.
• Supply structured feedback from the field to product and engineering teams.
• Develop demo applications, notebooks, reference architectures, integration guides, and internal training materials.
• Represent Featherless at conferences, meetups, and developer events.
• Maintain detailed records of POC and technical stages within HubSpot.
• 3–6 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or a customer-facing engineering role.
• Background in a GPU cloud, inference provider, MLOps platform, AI/developer tooling company, or cloud infrastructure provider.
• Proficient in writing Python and creating demos.
• Familiarity with modern LLM inference, including vLLM, SGLang, TensorRT-LLM or similar, OpenAI-compatible APIs, quantization, LoRA, fine-tuning serving, batching, and KV cache behavior.
• Practical knowledge of the open-model ecosystem, Hugging Face, major open-weight families, and model evaluation techniques.
• Comfortable working with containers, Kubernetes, cloud networking, and security basics.
• Capable of effectively communicating with ML engineers and CTOs.
• Strong written communication skills for benchmark reports and architectural documentation.
• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial in spirit.
• Extensive use of AI tools for research and prototyping purposes.
• Preferred: Experience with AMD GPUs/ROCm, enterprise security and compliance assessments, contributions to open-source projects or public technical writing, or being the first technical hire on a go-to-market team.
