This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Manage the complete commercial contracting process, encompassing MSAs, DPAs, customer redlines, risk assessments, playbooks, fallback strategies, templates, legal intake, and sales legal SLAs.
• Efficiently process a large volume of contract reviews promptly.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on regulated products such as background screening, right-to-work checks, DBS and credit checks, and AI-driven hiring features.
• Oversee regulatory compliance in accordance with UK and EU GDPR, FCRA, the EU AI Act, and US state legislation.
• Draft and negotiate various agreements including partnership, reseller, referral, integration, marketplace, NDA, supplier, and vendor contracts.
• Manage the contract lifecycle from template creation through to signature and renewal.
• Take charge of company-wide data protection efforts, including DPAs, subprocessor management, DPIAs, DSARs, records of processing, and international transfers.
• Ensure compliance with UK and EU GDPR, US state privacy laws, Quebec Law 25, China’s PIPL, and other regional regulations.
• Create and maintain accurate policies to ensure ongoing audit readiness.
• Lead due diligence processes, corporate housekeeping, documentation for shares and options, and remediation of historical contractual risks.
• Develop and oversee Pinpoint’s legal function as the first and only dedicated legal hire.
• Report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
• Qualified attorney in England and Wales, or an equivalent common law jurisdiction.
• Proven commercial contracting experience, particularly in-house at a SaaS organization.
• Experience as in-house counsel in a rapidly scaling startup with 50–250 employees.
• Demonstrated ability to build legal infrastructure with limited resources in a fast-paced environment.
• Background in training at a law firm followed by an in-house transition.
• Experience with SaaS contracting.
• Comprehensive knowledge across commercial contracting, data protection, and product legal matters.
• Capability to evaluate risks, propose reasonable solutions, and escalate significant trade-offs.
• Technologically proficient and quick to adopt new tools, especially AI applications like Claude.
• Strong communication skills, both clear and concise.
