Founding Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the product's UI/UX while collaborating closely with the founder.

• Develop and deploy SvelteKit applications comprehensively, covering routing, load functions, server-side rendering, form actions, and client-side state management.

• Write strictly typed TypeScript at the component level.

• Create responsive and accessible user interfaces using Tailwind CSS, which includes custom design systems and component variations.

• Construct and expose REST or RPC endpoints in Fastify with schema-based request validation, error handling, and authentication middleware.

• Design PostgreSQL tables, execute and revert migrations, and write raw SQL or utilize Drizzle, Kysely, or Prisma for complex queries.

• Oversee frontend performance, focusing on bundle size, hydration costs, load waterfalls, and Core Web Vitals.

• Set up or maintain CI/CD for a Node.js/SvelteKit application, encompassing build, lint, type-check, and deployment processes.

• Troubleshoot production issues across the entire stack without needing to consult a backend specialist.

• Help shape a pre-launch startup from scratch in partnership with the founder.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional frontend engineering experience, including at least 1–2 years specifically with SvelteKit.

• Extensive, verifiable experience in another modern reactive framework (such as React or Vue) is acceptable only if supported by evidence of a quick adaptation to Svelte.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including generics, discriminated unions, and the ability to type complex API responses.

• Practical knowledge of Fastify, or equivalent substantial experience in Express, Hono, or NestJS, with an expectation of rapid learning of Fastify's plugin and hook system.

• Competent in PostgreSQL with skills in schema design, basic indexing, writing and rolling back migrations, diagnosing slow queries using EXPLAIN, and utilizing the psql CLI.

• Experience in production environments with Tailwind CSS, including custom theme configurations, component abstraction, and responsive design.

• A public GitHub profile showcasing relevant commit history or a live, fully functional end-to-end product that can be directly tested.

• Capability to discuss a real production incident or bug resolution spanning both frontend and backend.

• Located in Europe and able to work remotely, with significant overlap in working hours with a founder-led team.
