Foster Home Worker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee case management responsibilities for a caseload of foster homes

• Maintain facility logs that document monthly communications with foster homes lacking foster youth placements

• Conduct quarterly environmental evaluations for designated foster homes

• Complete annual interim documentation for assigned foster homes

• Monitor foster parent training hours and ensure compliance paperwork is up to date

• Perform Individual Training Needs Assessments every six months

• May lead foster parent training sessions

• Assist in auditing files of foster homes

• May organize foster parent support groups

• Support the recruiter in retention tasks

• Document home visits, support meetings, interactions, and incidents

• Ensure compliance with monthly and quarterly STARS standards

• Collaborate with clinical staff on surveys and tools

• Gather and organize documentation from foster parents and foster youth

• Report any concerns or incidents related to assigned youth or foster parents to clinical staff

• Plan schedules with the supervisor and maintain activity logs on a weekly basis

• Assist with divisional training sessions, activities, and special events

• Meet with the supervisor at least once a month for staffing discussions

• Timely submission of required monthly, quarterly, and other reports

• Foster positive working relationships with SAFY staff, youth, foster parents, referring agencies, and stakeholders

• Attend pertinent meetings, seminars, training sessions, conferences, and workshops

• Engage in assigned committees and chair committees if appointed

• Maintain liaisons with state and national organizations if designated

• May provide rotating or 24-hour on-call crisis support

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, child & family studies, or another approved related field of human services

• One year of relevant experience related to the specified degree

• Administrative experience is required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, agency databases, online systems, and other necessary software

• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance coverage to meet travel needs

• May require transportation of youth if necessary

• Willingness to travel to the division closest to the employee's base location

• Ability to attend mandatory meetings, training sessions, seminars, conferences, and workshops

• Capability to complete required educational hours annually

• Availability for on-call coverage 24 hours or on a rotating basis

• Sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences
