Forward Deployed Engineer, Generative AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• The Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) is responsible for the on-site implementation, integration, and expansion of our enterprise Generative AI solutions.

• This position involves embedding directly within client engineering teams to operationalize Large Language Models (LLMs) and retrieval systems across various multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• You will serve as a crucial link between AI research and production-level cloud infrastructure.

• Collaboration with cross-functional teams and business partners will be essential, providing you the opportunity to influence both current and future strategy by utilizing your analytical expertise to ensure business value and effectively communicate outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Create intelligent agents utilizing Vertex AI Agent Builder to streamline complex business workflows.

• Use the Agent Developer Kit (ADK) to develop and oversee multi-agent systems that work together to address comprehensive business challenges.

• Employ tools such as the MCP (Model Context Protocol) Toolbox to securely link agents to enterprise databases like BigQuery and Spanner.

• Leverage Vertex AI for model training, tuning, and deployment, ensuring smooth integration with BigQuery for feature engineering purposes.

• Construct and enhance streaming data pipelines (e.g., using Dataflow) to facilitate real-time inference through RunInference API or Vertex AI endpoints.

• Ground AI models in real-time business contexts using vector engines in BigQuery or AlloyDB to avert "AI amnesia".

• Active Participation: Attend all internal and client-facing meetings punctually.

• Transparent Communication: Deliver regular, structured updates to team members and stakeholders regarding project milestones and technical challenges.

• Proactive Collaboration: Exhibit the readiness to seek assistance when encountering technical obstacles and contribute to a cooperative troubleshooting atmosphere.

• Consultative Approach: Navigate corporate settings to translate overarching business objectives into solid technical architectures.

• Vertex AI Mastery: Demonstrated expertise with Model Garden, Vertex AI Pipelines, and model evaluation techniques.

• Data Proficiency: Advanced skills in SQL for BigQuery, Python for ML engineering, and data preprocessing methods (scaling, encoding, imputation).

• Cloud Infrastructure: Practical experience with Google Cloud Storage and Vertex AI endpoints.

• Emerging Tech: Awareness of stateful real-time processing and the latest advancements in agentic architectures.
