Forward Deployed Engineer – AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and implement secure, scalable, and resilient AWS cloud architectures.

• Utilize Infrastructure as Code along with contemporary microservices and serverless patterns.

• Act as the primary technical leader in strategic engagements with enterprise clients.

• Collaborate with CIOs, CTOs, VPs of Infrastructure/Engineering, and client development teams.

• Oversee large-scale migrations from on-premises data centers or outdated platforms to AWS.

• Transform legacy monolithic applications into serverless or containerized architectures.

• Architect and deploy enterprise-level Generative AI and machine learning workloads.

• Develop data platforms and AI solutions utilizing Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, vector databases, and custom RAG implementations.

• Identify high-value cloud workloads and promote the expansion of AWS consumption.

• Create proofs of concept and facilitate strategic technical alignment with client executive leadership.

• Guide and mentor Cloud Engineers and Solutions Architects.

• Create internal accelerators, reusable Terraform modules, AWS Well-Architected Review frameworks, and best practices for cloud delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 6 years of hands-on experience in Cloud Architecture, DevOps/SRE, or Software Engineering with a focus on AWS.

• Over 3 years in a client-facing consulting, Solutions Architecture, or Forward Deployed Engineering role.

• Mastery of core AWS services such as IAM, VPC, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFront, and Route 53.

• Expert-level knowledge in Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.

• Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Practical experience with Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Glue, Redshift, or OpenSearch.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional is required.

• Proven track record of leading technical delivery for Fortune 500 or mid-market enterprise clients.

• Experience in sectors such as Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, or SaaS.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to whiteboard complex architectures, develop working proofs of concept/demos, and present to C-level executives.

• Capability to conduct AWS Well-Architected Reviews and advocate for cloud modernization.
