Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Design and implement production-ready conversational AI agents.

• Create live, scalable agentic AI systems for sectors such as financial services, healthcare, and commerce.

• Take full responsibility for the AI agent lifecycle, from pilot to launch and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with enterprise leaders to address critical challenges using agentic AI.

• Incorporate field patterns and issues into the evolution of the platform, tooling, and product roadmap.

• Develop agents that surpass human operators in areas like retention and churn reduction.

• Create agents for sophisticated, integrated customer interactions across various CX use cases.

• Design reusable agent frameworks suitable for different industries.

• Lead design partnerships focused on agent architectures, self-service features, and generative development workflows.

• Integrate cutting-edge voice models into enterprise-grade applications.

• Set standards for the construction, evaluation, and enhancement of AI agents in production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in building and managing end-to-end production systems at scale.

• A natural builder's mindset with a strong sense of personal agency.

• Experience as a startup founder or an early engineer is highly regarded.

• Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills in dynamic, loosely defined environments.

• Experience in developing or operating AI/LLM-powered systems in production is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with AI agent evaluation frameworks, orchestration tools, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.

• Knowledge of React, TypeScript, and/or Go is beneficial.

• Comfortable engaging face-to-face with customers to identify issues and provide practical solutions.

• Previous customer-facing or externally-led technical experience is a plus.

• Ability to communicate clearly and directly with engineers and executives.

• Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and making progress without complete clarity.

• Capable of balancing competing priorities and fostering alignment between technical and business teams.
