Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical aspects of the sales process, which includes discovery, solution design, demonstrations, POCs/POVs, and addressing technical objections.

• Manage the technical elements of account expansion by pinpointing new use cases within existing accounts and transforming them into evaluations.

• Create functional demos and prototypes utilizing Exa's API for agents, research, search, and enrichment applications.

• Convert Exa's capabilities into use-case narratives targeted at CTOs, engineers, and PMs.

• Act as a reliable technical advisor regarding Exa's product, API, and its various applications.

• Conduct thorough evaluations, respond to technical inquiries, and engage engineering when necessary.

• Recognize customer evaluation trends and relay feedback to the product and engineering teams.

• Develop reusable demos, integration patterns, and regional playbooks.

• Represent Exa at technical workshops, meetups, and conferences.

• Assist early customers during the onboarding process and initial implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in a customer-facing technical position (flexibility for outstanding candidates).

• Proven experience in solutions/sales engineering, solutions architecture, or engineering roles with significant customer interaction.

• Technical proficiency with APIs and contemporary development languages, such as Python or TypeScript.

• Capability to design integrations, create functional demos, and troubleshoot in real-time.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in early-stage environments.

• Understanding of LLMs, RAG, agents, and customer evaluation methodologies.

• Skill in defining POCs with clear success criteria.

• Must be based in India and willing to travel for customer engagements.

• Proficiency in additional regional languages is advantageous for APJ markets.
