This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Collaborate with the Implementation Consultant to assess customer requirements, translating them into configurations, new functionalities, or custom-coded solutions while emphasizing scalability and reusability.
β’ Define new platform capabilities in conjunction with the SaaS development team to ensure successful customer go-live.
β’ Manage the entire technical onboarding process for customers, including legacy data extraction, field and workflow mapping, transformation authoring, staging dry-runs, delta reviews, and production cutover with guaranteed data integrity.
β’ Convert municipal operational needs into product configurations, encompassing case types, workflows, fees, templates, and permissions.
β’ Develop migration transformations, integration adapters, and extraction tools for legacy systems.
β’ Lead technical stakeholder engagement on the customer side, collaborating with IT directors, GIS teams, conducting security reviews, and setting up municipal Entra/Okta SSO.
β’ Transform manual implementation workarounds into specifications for tooling or product capabilities.
β’ Create the Forward Deployed Engineer playbook, which includes runbooks, mapping templates, extraction scripts, and estimation models.
β’ Integrate AI coding agents as a key component of the implementation process.
β’ Successfully manage a cohort of customers under the new implementation model, ensuring zero data integrity incidents and maintaining auditable migrations.
β’ Aim to reduce and measure implementation timelines effectively.
β’ Develop a repeatable FDE playbook for future team members.
β’ Drive improvements in tooling and products based on field reports.
β’ Report directly to the CTO.
β’ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer.
β’ At least 2 years in a customer-facing deployment role, such as Forward Deployed Engineer, solutions architect, solutions engineer in a data-intensive organization, or implementation engineer involved in writing production code.
β’ Strong knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and agentic automation.
β’ Proficient in SQL and data migration techniques, including working with undocumented legacy schemas and ensuring auditable data extraction.
β’ Strong skills in TypeScript.
β’ Proficient in Python for creating extraction tools.
β’ Experience with SSO integration using SAML/OIDC and REST/webhooks.
β’ Ideally, familiarity with GIS (Esri/parcel data) and payment systems.
β’ Comfortable interacting directly with non-technical government clients, city clerks, security reviewers, and IT directors.
β’ Good judgment regarding custom solutions versus repeatable tooling.
β’ Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
β’ Successful candidates must complete thorough background checks that focus on relevant global sanctions and criminal offenses.
