This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take charge of strategic AI implementations from start to finish, encompassing discovery, planning, architecture, execution, assessment, production deployment, and user adoption.
• Collaborate with the commercial team during the pre-sales phase to spearhead technical discovery, solution design, and validation for key customer opportunities.
• Lead post-sales technical success by directing implementation and integration activities that transition customers from initial ideas to production.
• Develop production-ready AI systems utilizing LLMs and contemporary AI models, which includes model APIs, tool invocation, context management, structured outputs, and agentic workflows.
• Feed customer insights back into the product by recognizing patterns across various deployments and converting one-time solutions into reusable components, tools, playbooks, and product functionalities.
• Spot opportunities, establish strong perspectives, and translate them into actionable plans.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Lead, VP of Sales, and Engineering teams throughout the technical customer journey.
• Over 5 years of experience in roles such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Founding Engineer, or Product Engineer with significant customer responsibility.
• Proven history of addressing vague customer challenges from discovery to production deployment.
• Strong technical and commercial acumen, capable of making sound trade-offs among customer requirements, product capabilities, and engineering intricacies.
• Expertise in SQL, APIs, integrations, authentication, cloud infrastructure, and production monitoring.
• Proficient in writing clean code in Python and/or Rust, as well as React/Typescript.
• Practical experience in creating AI-driven applications, including engagement with model APIs, context management, tool invocation, retrieval, assessment, and balancing cost, quality, and latency.
• Comfortable operating in uncertain environments and taking initiative without awaiting guidance.
• High standards for personal work with the ability to act swiftly without compromising quality.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English, capable of clearly conveying complex technical decisions to both engineering and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with profiling tools and performance enhancement techniques.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
• Located in NYC with the flexibility to work from our Brooklyn office or remotely, and willingness to travel up to 30% of the year for in-person team collaboration.
