Forestry and Biomass Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vietnam.

📋 Description

• Facilitate the sustainable use of biomass in the energy sector as well as forestry certification services globally.

• Conduct SBP audits and ensure precise record-keeping in Salesforce.

• Take part in ANAB assessments pertaining to SBP, which includes both office and onsite evaluations.

• Create SBP engagement proposals and engage in SBP working groups along with relevant scheme activities.

• Organize and carry out FSC/PEFC Forest Management and Chain of Custody evaluations and annual audits.

• Oversee budgeting, service contracts, logistical planning, audit preparation, reporting, report review, and database management.

• Serve as an auditor for selected FSC/PEFC evaluations, initially as a team member and subsequently as a lead auditor.

• Formulate and execute evaluation schedules.

• Ensure operational efficiency, quality control, and compliance with technical and administrative certification protocols.

• Offer customer service and technical advice on certification standards, processes, and use of trademarks or logos.

• Build and sustain technical proficiency in FSC and PEFC policies, standards, and protocols.

• Assist in the coordination and execution of new certification services.

• Address inquiries and disputes concerning active certification evaluations and clients.

• Interact with clients, certification schemes, and pertinent stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in forestry, biology, geography, environmental management, or a related discipline.

• Roughly 2 to 3 years of experience in the forest product sector, covering timber, printing, paper, forestry, related industries, or environmental management.

• Proficient in both English and Vietnamese.

• Must be based in Vietnam.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

• A strong commitment to integrity and business ethics.

• Capability to balance client service with auditor impartiality.

• Comfort in making independent decisions and working autonomously, often remotely from colleagues.

• Auditing experience and/or familiarity with FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody or Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard requirements is preferred but not mandatory.
