This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria, +1 more country.
β’ Assess customer utility accounts and billing records to pinpoint high-value accounts needing investigation.
β’ Download and arrange historical utility bills along with supporting documentation.
β’ Establish and uphold standardized folder structures and audit files.
β’ Prioritize accounts according to billing thresholds and potential financial ramifications.
β’ Transform utility statements into organized PDFs for data extraction and analysis.
β’ Utilize AI-driven tools to extract up to 24 months of billing data into structured spreadsheets.
β’ Analyze billing data using Month-over-Month and Year-over-Year comparisons.
β’ Examine billing dates, charges, consumption, rates, tariffs, meter types, rate classes, and detailed generation, transmission, and delivery costs.
β’ Detect irregular usage patterns, billing discrepancies, unjustified charges, and potential overbilling.
β’ Manually verify AI-generated data against original utility bills.
β’ Investigate property characteristics and operational factors influencing utility usage.
β’ Prepare specific client inquiries regarding property operations and consumption trends.
β’ Investigate incorrect rate classes, meter types, and tariff infractions.
β’ Calculate potential historical overcharges and compile evidence for audit findings.
β’ Validate utility tariffs, rate schedules, regulations, and supporting documentation through official sources.
β’ Oversee multiple high-priority accounts while ensuring accuracy and organization.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
β’ Prior experience in data analysis, auditing, utility billing, energy management, financial analysis, or forensic analysis is highly sought after.
β’ Strong analytical skills for recognizing patterns, anomalies, discrepancies, and potential errors in extensive financial and operational datasets.
β’ Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
β’ Experience managing large volumes of documents while keeping organized digital filing systems.
β’ Familiarity with AI-driven data extraction or document analysis tools is a plus.
β’ Previous experience reviewing utility bills, tariffs, rate schedules, meter types, or energy consumption data is preferred.
β’ Strong research abilities and capacity to interpret official utility, regulatory, and public sources.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to manually verifying data accuracy.
β’ Capability to compare Month-over-Month and Year-over-Year performance and identify unusual variances.
β’ Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
β’ Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities at the same time.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β’ High level of integrity, accuracy, and discretion when handling client financial and operational information.
β’ Reliable computer, noise-canceling headset, second monitor, stable internet connection, and backup internet connection.
β’ Availability to work from 9am to 6pm US Eastern Standard Time (EST).
