Forensic Nurse Expert – Part-time, On-Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized forensic nursing consultations through telehealth for acute sexual assault and intimate partner violence examinations.

• Mentor and guide SANEs in real-time across both adult and pediatric cases.

• Provide 48 hours of overnight on-call services each month, including 24 hours on weekends, using a self-scheduling model.

• Complete over 60 hours of both virtual and in-person orientation for new hires.

• Travel to State College, Pennsylvania, for a mandatory three-day in-person training session within the first year.

• Participate in virtual monthly team meetings.

• Fulfill quality assurance documentation requirements and complete post-consultation surveys.

• Engage in personalized teleSANE consultation review sessions.

• Attend ongoing education and training updates.

• Stay informed about state regulations, national standards, and evidence-based practices in forensic nursing.

• Accept cases and provide mentorship during designated on-call times.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of an active, unencumbered nurse license (RN or higher) in good standing.

• Currently practicing as a Sexual Assault Nurse/Forensic Examiner (SANE/SAFE).

• A minimum of 30 acute sexual assault forensic examinations conducted independently each year for the last three years.

• At least 15 pediatric examinations conducted independently on an annual basis.

• SANE-A and/or SANE-P certification from the Commission for Forensic Nursing Certification (CFNC).

• Must obtain nursing compact licensure and/or relevant state licensure(s) upon hiring.

• Access to reliable, secure high-speed Wi-Fi.

• A private, quiet, and confidential home or office workspace free from interruptions.

• Commitment to remain in the position for a minimum of two years.

• PA State Police Criminal Background Check required.

• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form is necessary.

• Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check is mandatory.
