Foreman Carpenter – Retail Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee carpentry teams and manage retail construction projects from initiation to completion.

• Install millwork, cabinetry, fixtures, displays, and decorative packages.

• Carry out rough carpentry, framing, drywall installation, and interior finishing work.

• Install wall panels, trim, doors, hardware, and various accessories.

• Implement retail remodels, tenant improvements, and store refurbishment projects.

• Direct and coordinate the daily operations of carpenters and assistant carpenters.

• Plan work activities and schedule tasks to achieve production objectives.

• Interpret plans, specifications, and project timelines accurately.

• Execute layout tasks and ensure installations comply with project standards.

• Supervise workmanship and uphold high-quality standards.

• Collaborate with project management, subcontractors, vendors, and store personnel.

• Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure a secure jobsite environment.

• Anticipate material requirements and address potential issues proactively to avoid schedule disruptions.

• Mentor and train less experienced team members.

• Assist in delivering projects on time and meeting customer expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial carpentry.

• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role as a Lead Carpenter or Foreman.

• Background in retail, commercial, tenant improvement, or remodeling construction.

• Proficient in framing, drywall work, finish carpentry, fixture installation, and millwork.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications effectively.

• Demonstrated capability to lead teams while ensuring productivity and quality.

• Experience in coordinating multiple trades within active construction settings.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.

• Willingness to travel and stay overnight as project schedules demand.

• Strong commitment to safety, accountability, and teamwork principles.
