This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.
β’ Integrate, configure, test, and troubleshoot UAS flight-control systems.
β’ Assist with the setup of flight controllers, including parameter configuration, tuning, and validation.
β’ Identify and diagnose issues related to aircraft stability, control, navigation, communication, and flight performance.
β’ Analyze flight logs, telemetry, sensor data, and aircraft behavior to determine root causes.
β’ Integrate flight controllers with GPS/GNSS, IMUs, magnetometers, barometers, ESCs, motors, telemetry, communications systems, and other aircraft components.
β’ Develop and implement procedures for bench, ground, and flight testing.
β’ Validate new configurations, components, firmware releases, and changes to flight control.
β’ Support the development and testing of failsafes, flight modes, autonomous functionalities, and other flight control features.
β’ Troubleshoot intricate aircraft issues across firmware, avionics, electrical hardware, propulsion, sensors, and communications.
β’ Collaborate with engineering, production, and operations teams to transition new aircraft and system enhancements from development to production.
β’ Provide engineering-level assistance for flight control issues encountered during production or field operations.
β’ Document aircraft configurations, parameters, test results, technical issues, and corrective measures.
β’ Analyze flight data on a computer, troubleshoot aircraft on the bench, and engage in flight testing in the field.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
β’ Practical experience with UAS or autonomous aircraft flight control systems.
β’ Experience in configuring, integrating, tuning, developing, or troubleshooting flight controllers.
β’ Understanding of aircraft stability, control, navigation, sensors, and flight control architecture.
β’ Experience in analyzing flight logs, telemetry, or other flight test data.
β’ Proficiency in integrating flight controllers with aircraft sensors, propulsion systems, communications, and other onboard systems.
β’ Strong skills in technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
β’ Willingness and capability to work directly with aircraft during bench, ground, and flight testing.
β’ Experience in one or more hardware/avionics domains, such as flight control electronics, avionics integration, electrical systems, sensors, GPS/GNSS, communications, telemetry, ESCs, motors, propulsion systems, CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, wiring, harnesses, connectors, PCBs, schematics, electronics prototyping, or component-level troubleshooting.
β’ Experience in one or more firmware/software domains, including embedded firmware development, C/C++, flight control or autopilot software, PX4, ArduPilot, flight control algorithms, control loops, autonomous functionality, firmware debugging, validation, or Git.
β’ Strong flight control expertise with in-depth knowledge in either hardware/avionics or firmware/software.
β’ Preferred experience with multirotor, fixed-wing, VTOL, or other unmanned aircraft.
β’ Preferred experience taking a UAS from prototype through flight testing and into production.
β’ Preferred experience in flight controller tuning and aircraft performance optimization.
β’ Preferred experience in autonomous flight, mission planning, or navigation systems.
β’ Preferred experience in developing or validating flight-critical features and failsafes.
β’ Preferred experience in supporting UAS manufacturing or field operations.
β’ FAA Part 107 certification or willingness to obtain certification.
β’ Possible compensation premium for candidates willing to work in Louisiana.
