
Fleet Operations Regional Manager – Eastern Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +5 more states.
• Directly oversee a distributed team of 8–15 Fleet Technicians throughout the Eastern Region, covering over 10 states.
• Recruit, onboard, develop, mentor, and assess technician talent.
• Manage technician schedules, on-call rotations, and deployment coverage to fulfill regional fleet SLAs.
• Take ownership of regional fleet Uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and first-time-fix-rate metrics, reporting weekly to the Head of Data & Fleet Operations.
• Act as the escalation point for intricate field issues and deploy or dispatch senior technicians as necessary.
• Conduct root cause analyses and collaborate with Engineering on systemic solutions.
• Oversee regional parts inventory and the tooling supply chain.
• Lead responses to fleet-wide safety incidents and field stops.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, site-specific HSE, and other relevant regulations.
• Represent Bedrock in customer interactions, QBRs, and site evaluations.
• Communicate fleet status, maintenance schedules, and incident updates to Customer Success and clients.
• Ensure adherence to contractual SLAs and customer uptime commitments.
• Collaborate with Account Management and Sales on planning for regional expansion.
• Ensure documentation of repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and parts usage in the Fleet Management System.
• Enforce standardized maintenance procedures and corrective measures.
• Manage the regional operations budget and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Develop operational playbooks, escalation procedures, and standards.
• Provide field insights and customer feedback to Product and Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in field service, fleet operations, or technical field management.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role overseeing field technicians.
• Experience managing geographically dispersed teams across multiple states or regions.
• Hands-on technical background in electromechanical systems, robotics, industrial automation, aerospace, heavy equipment, EVs, or autonomous vehicles.
• Proven track record of owning and enhancing fleet uptime, MTTR, MTBF, or first-time-fix-rate KPIs.
• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to utilize fleet monitoring data and summary reports.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as enterprise customers.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across the Central Region, including overnight and multi-day trips.
• Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate a commercial service vehicle if necessary.
• Proficiency with field service management software such as Fleetio, SAP, Salesforce Field Service, IFS, or similar FMS/ERP platforms.
• Preferred experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or advanced manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ISO reliability standards or equivalent frameworks is preferred.
• Experience managing preventive maintenance and complex corrective repairs is preferred.
• Preferred certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or other formal process improvement methodologies.
• Experience in a venture-backed or high-growth technology company is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in various conditions including noise, dust, sun, heat, rain, and other changing weather.
• Capability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and occasionally work in confined or elevated spaces using appropriate PPE.
• Availability to work occasional weekends, evenings, or on-call shifts.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
