This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Manage the administrative lifecycle of eMerge matters, including the intake of new matters, coordination of conflicts, setup of matters, and associated operational steps.
• Track essential operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancement.
• Supervise matter rates, estimates, and budgets, ensuring the status is monitored and timely communication is coordinated.
• Generate, monitor, and convey updates on matter statuses, deadlines, expectations for responsiveness, budget and estimate revisions, cost-saving information, utilized tools, and other operational specifics.
• Offer operational assistance to eMerge Attorney Case Managers by alleviating administrative and tracking responsibilities.
• Facilitate operational initiatives such as procedural modifications, tool implementations, and enhancements in reporting.
• Assist the Director of eMerge Operations by creating dashboards, conducting analyses, and preparing presentations.
• Act as a liaison between eMerge and firm teams, including IT, Finance, Marketing, and Innovation.
• Analyze workflows to discover opportunities for streamlining, standardizing, and minimizing friction.
• Formulate and present recommendations, procedural changes, templates, checklists, and tools, while supporting their implementation.
• Keep abreast of trends in eDiscovery, legal operations, and data management, and suggest improvements.
• Aid in training and guiding legal and administrative staff on tools, processes, and best practices.
• Maintain thorough documentation for processes, procedures, and communication protocols.
• Safeguard confidential information while upholding a client-service-first mentality.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills; capable of handling multiple priorities and meeting demanding deadlines.
• Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in clear and proactive communication regarding matter statuses, updates on budgets and estimates, deadlines, risks, and subsequent steps.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster productive relationships across all levels.
• Capability to analyze operational challenges, interpret data and metrics, and formulate practical, solution-oriented recommendations.
• Competence in triaging routine operational issues and appropriately escalating complex matters.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable developing and maintaining trackers, reports, dashboards, and summaries.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Strong dedication to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and organizational values.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on high-impact tasks.
• Familiarity with eDiscovery, litigation support, or legal operations processes; experience with related tools and systems is preferred.
• Understanding of the legal ecosystem and the evolving role of technology, AI, data, and legal operations.
• Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that showcases the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in eDiscovery, litigation support, legal operations, or a related professional services environment.
• Experience in supporting operational workflows, reporting, process enhancement, and cross-functional coordination.
