Fixed Assets Business Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee the operational framework that integrates data center asset operations, maintenance activities, project execution, and fixed asset accounting.

• Create, execute, and consistently enhance the comprehensive process that connects Nuvolo physical asset activities, work orders, maintenance logs, and lifecycle events to NetSuite fixed asset records.

• Ensure that Nuvolo asset hierarchies, identifiers, tagging standards, classifications, locations, and lifecycle statuses align with NetSuite's reporting and accounting requirements.

• Convert NetSuite fixed asset and accounting specifications into Nuvolo workflows, required data fields, supporting documentation, and system controls.

• Spearhead business requirements gathering, process design, testing, implementation, and the enhancement of Nuvolo-NetSuite integrations and interfaces.

• Outline data mappings, integration triggers, validation rules, error management, data ownership, and controls in collaboration with IT, platform, data, and system owners.

• Link work orders, maintenance tasks, component replacements, commissioning, and decommissioning to physical assets and their corresponding ERP fixed asset records.

• Formulate business rules and escalation workflows for capitalizable improvements, component replacements, retirements, transfers, and disposals.

• Set up regular reconciliations between CMMS asset registers and ERP fixed asset records; investigate and resolve any discrepancies.

• Generate reports on integration status, asset-event volume, reconciliation outcomes, exception aging, data quality, and financial readiness risks.

• Collaborate with the Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to provide accounting-relevant operational events and necessary information for capitalization, retirement, transfer, and other fixed asset processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (e.g., Business Administration with a focus on accounting, or Management Information Systems).

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in fixed asset accounting, capital asset management, finance transformation, or business systems analysis within capital-intensive sectors.

• Strong technical understanding of fixed asset accounting principles, including capitalization thresholds, componentization, differentiating betterments from routine maintenance, asset de-recognition, transfers, and disposals.

• Practical experience with an ERP system like NetSuite, specifically in fixed asset subledger management, capital project records, and purchasing modules.

• Experience working with a CMMS platform such as Nuvolo or a similar enterprise work and asset management system, involving equipment hierarchies, work orders, and asset status tracking.

• Background in designing, testing, or managing business requirements for integrations, automated data interfaces, or reconciliation workflows between operational maintenance systems and ERP subledgers.

• Proven experience in establishing internal controls, audit trails, and frameworks for physical-to-book reconciliation that comply with SOX and internal audit standards.

• Strong analytical and data manipulation abilities, including reconciling diverse datasets, probing systemic anomalies, and pinpointing process bottlenecks.

• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, adept at translating technical engineering and operational workflows into accounting requirements and vice versa.
