Financial Clearance Associate, Business Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Gather and authenticate demographic and insurance information.

• Secure authorizations, referrals, and notifications for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, admissions/observations, and various procedures or treatments.

• Arrange patients' initial, follow-up, and additional appointments or procedures.

• Operate in a call center-like environment.

• Achieve personal quality metrics, encompassing productivity, accuracy, and customer service quality assurance.

• Manage patient flow and ensure prompt processing.

• Stay informed about and implement departmental, physician practice, and hospital protocols to address patient inquiries or concerns.

• Maintain an understanding of insurance requirements, BHSF pricing, financial assistance options, and BHSF Revenue Cycle operations.

• Deliver professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certification, GED, Training, or relevant Experience.

• Successfully complete the Patient Access training course.

• Capability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work setting.

• Proficient in performing basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, a team player, compassionate, with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology is preferred.

• Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

• Proficient typing skills.

• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.

• Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
