Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Establish and uphold financial project trackers for awarded contracts to oversee revenues, professional fees, pass-through expenses, project milestones, and overall financial performance.

• Develop and maintain funding agreements within financial systems to accurately monitor contractual commitments and project funding.

• Create initial and ongoing revenue forecasts, taking into account deferred revenue and pass-through expense considerations.

• Collaborate with Project Managers to assess budgets and formulate change orders based on actual project activity, financial trends, and modifications to the scope.

• Generate billing schedules for change orders and ensure that invoices are produced accurately and in alignment with client agreements and project timelines.

• Revise project trackers and financial budgets to incorporate approved project amendments and changes in scope.

• Prepare and submit precise invoices for assigned projects, ensuring that all billable services and expenses are accurately recorded and tracked.

• Record and recognize project revenue in compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.

• Monitor actual project fees and expenses against approved budgets, proactively identifying and addressing financial variances.

• Assist in collections activities by liaising with clients regarding outstanding invoices and resolving billing-related inquiries.

• Conduct financial reconciliations, accruals, and ad hoc financial analyses to aid client requests and business decision-making.

• Maintain precise financial records and provide timely financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of the project.

• Work collaboratively with finance, project management, and operational teams to foster process improvements and ensure financial compliance.

• Execute additional duties and special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Experience in financial reporting, accounting, bookkeeping, project finance, or financial analysis.

• Preferred experience supporting financial activities within a project-based environment.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, and data analysis.

• Experience with financial management, ERP, project accounting, or project management systems is preferred.

• Strong comprehension of budgeting, revenue forecasting, invoicing, accruals, and financial reconciliation processes.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
