Finance & Strategy Manager

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary Strategic Finance partner for Block's portfolio of commercial partnerships.

• Take ownership of the financial and strategic narrative surrounding partner relationships.

• Formulate Block's perspective on value within partner relationships by leveraging market trends, competitive insights, and internal data.

• Lead financial modeling and provide deal advisory for significant partner negotiations, from the initial framing to the final signed agreement.

• Project variable costs across various brands and clarify shifts in volume and mix.

• Manage cross-functional strategic initiatives involving Financial Operations, Product, Data Science, Legal, and Accounting.

• Simplify complex findings into clear narratives and visual representations for executive decision-making.

• Create dashboards, SQL queries, and automated reports to reveal insights at scale.

• Report to a Finance & Strategy Lead within Block's Business Strategic Finance team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, strategic or corporate finance, or management consulting.

• Proven experience in developing financial analyses to support commercial negotiations, contracts, or partnerships.

• Skilled in modeling deal structures and pricing mechanics.

• Capable of translating signed agreements into financial forecasts.

• Proficient in forming and defending recommendations based on incomplete information.

• Expertise in Excel / Google Sheets.

• Comfortable working with SQL and contemporary AI-assisted analytics tools.

• Demonstrated history of managing projects from inception to completion.

• Experience in leading initiatives with various cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
