This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee and enhance the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasts across various markets, ministries, and entities.
• Deliver monthly closing support, coordinate accounting tasks, and manage income statements, balance sheets, along with long-term financial projections.
• Act as a subject matter expert and project lead for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Execute enhancements to financial systems, improve workflows, and standardize tools, methodologies, dashboards, and analytics processes.
• Examine claims, eligibility, attribution, CMS/payer files, and contract datasets to uncover trends, risk factors, financial opportunities, and performance deficiencies.
• Create and sustain executive dashboards and KPI reporting for leadership and governance purposes.
• Assist in modeling value-based contracts, including MSSP, MA, shared savings, and bundled payment structures.
• Supply financial, utilization, and quality analytics to support improvement initiatives, vendor assessments, and strategic decision-making.
• Perform data validation, reconciliations, controls assessments, and audit preparations.
• Guarantee compliance with HIPAA, PHI, and organizational data governance standards.
• Convert actuarial, contractual, and management guidance into actionable financial insights and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with Shared Services, Market Finance, data teams, and leadership to synchronize financial reporting, performance management processes, and compliance obligations.
• Maintain supportive relationships with CFOs, finance teams, and clinicians.
• Prepare and present findings to senior leadership, boards, committees, and external stakeholders.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide proactive financial insights to further enterprise strategy and operational objectives.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline (required).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare finance, accounting, actuarial/insurance analytics, value-based care analytics, or similar fields (required).
• Proven experience dealing with healthcare claims, eligibility, and financial datasets (required).
• Proficient in SQL, Tableau (or other BI tools), Excel, and relational databases (required).
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification (preferred).
• CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional – IIBA) certification (preferred).
• Familiarity with Medicare Advantage, MSSP, ACOs, CINs, risk-based payment models, or provider/payer financial reconciliation processes (preferred).
• Knowledge in using financial planning software.
• Comprehensive understanding of healthcare finance and accounting principles.
• Skills in SQL querying, data extraction, and navigation of relational databases.
• Experience in analyzing claims, eligibility, attribution, and contract data.
• Proficiency with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
• Competence in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning.
• Experience in KPI development, monitoring, and benchmarking.
• Familiarity with audit preparation, data validation, and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to analyze healthcare performance metrics (cost, utilization, quality).
• Advanced skills in Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas).
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data governance standards.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in translating data into actionable insights.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Capability to collaborate and engage stakeholders across complex teams.
