Finance Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes across Group entities.

• Oversee bookkeeping, reconciliations, intercompany accounting, consolidation, and the preparation of financial statements.

• Manage daily finance operations, including client invoicing, collections, accounts payable, vendor billing, and payment processing across the Group.

• Lead and coordinate audits at both Group and entity levels.

• Prepare supporting schedules, handle auditor requests, and address audit findings.

• Establish and maintain financial controls, accounting policies, approval processes, and documented finance procedures throughout the Group.

• Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory accounts, regulatory financial reports, and other finance-related filings.

• Identify opportunities to enhance and automate accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and other finance workflows.

• Report directly to the VP of Finance.

• Develop, build, and scale the bank’s accounting infrastructure and core ledger.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6–12 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations.

• Proven experience managing month-end closes, reconciliations, and financial statements across multiple entities.

• Background working at a Big 4 accounting firm, especially in audit or accounting advisory, is highly desirable.

• Experience in a startup, digital asset services, fintech, or regulated financial services environment is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards.

• Ability to evaluate and apply suitable accounting treatments to complex transactions.

• Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, consolidation, and intercompany accounting.

• Experience with multi-entity or international group structures is preferred.

• Familiarity with supporting or managing external audits, statutory reporting, financial controls, and accounting policies.

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets and enterprise-level accounting/ERP systems.

• Knowledge of AI and automation tools to enhance finance processes is a plus.
