Field Technician D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance for FAA programs and systems such as FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS, and others.

• Install, repair, configure, test, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment at remote customer locations.

• Provide both scheduled and on-call field assistance at customer sites within the designated area.

• Occasionally travel to remote locations outside the assigned area to meet FAA customer requirements.

• Collaborate directly with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk via phone to address field issues.

• Manage tools, testing equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory, and personal or company vehicles.

• Prepare for assigned tasks prior to dispatching.

• Work with the supervisor/ASL to ensure compliance with L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures.

• Document activities and events occurring at customer locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year post-Secondary/Associates Degree paired with at least 4 years of related experience.

• Valid Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.

• Capability to obtain a FAA Public Trust or U.S. Government Security Clearance.

• Proficient in reading, understanding, and following equipment drawings and task orders.

• Strong administrative skills, including note-taking and documentation.

• Ability to lift items weighing up to 32 lbs. and utilize ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 ft.

• Willingness to work outside of regular hours/on-call as needed.

• Certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, or A+ are preferred.

• Preferred knowledge of cable connectors, fiber, multiplexers, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET, ATM, private line, voice/data applications, and AC/DC power testing.

• Familiarity with 24V DC and 48V DC power supplies is preferred.

• Experience in T1, DS3, BERT, analog VG, and network/circuit testing is preferred.

• Experience with network test equipment like JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, digital oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, or Para-scope is preferred.

• Preferred knowledge of IP-based systems and experience in configuring routers and switches.

• Experience with installing equipment racks is preferred.
