Field Technician C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support for L3Harris FAA programs and systems, which include FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, and WMSS.

• Install, repair, configure, test, and conduct preventative maintenance on networking and telecommunications equipment.

• Operate at customer remote locations, both indoors and outdoors, within the designated area.

• Travel to remote sites within the assigned region and occasionally beyond to meet FAA customer requirements.

• Collaborate directly with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk via phone to address field issues.

• Manage tools, testing equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory, and personal or company vehicles.

• Record work completed and events at customer sites.

• Prepare for assigned duties prior to dispatch.

• Adhere to L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures in coordination with the supervisor/ASL.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or 2 years of post-secondary/Associate's Degree with at least 2 years of related experience.

• Capability to obtain and maintain FAA Public Trust / Public Trust Clearance.

• Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.

• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time to remote locations within a 3-hour driving radius of the base location.

• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

• Flexibility to work on a scheduled and on-call basis, including outside regular hours.

• Proficient in reading, understanding, and following equipment drawings and task orders.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to lift items weighing up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach approximately 10 feet.

• Preferred certifications include Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, or A+.

• Familiarity with cable connectors such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, and RS-449.

• Extensive knowledge of fiber optics, multiplexers, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET, ATM, Private Line, and voice/data applications.

• Understanding of AC/DC power testing, including 3 Phase AC and 24VDC/48VDC power supplies.

• Experience with T1, DS3, BERT, and analog VG testing in accordance with Bell Core standards.

• Proficient in using network testing equipment such as JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, digital oscilloscopes, Halcyon 704A, and Para-scope or other T1/DS3 testing devices.

• Knowledge of IP-based systems and experience in configuring routers and switches.
