This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee a designated area that includes the Piedmont Triad region and the North Carolina/Virginia border.
• Offer technical support to address network performance challenges and aid in resolving outages.
• Manage smaller projects or segments of larger projects, providing accurate updates on status and progress.
• Identify and suggest improvements for maintenance and repair processes to senior staff and management.
• Collaborate with senior technicians to create job aids, scopes of work, and procedural documents.
• Complete necessary training to stay updated on systems, products, and organizational standards.
• Assist with network operations to enhance performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support, manage smaller projects, and contribute to the enhancement of operational processes.
• Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
• Participate in both day and night work schedules, including an on-call rotation that covers weekends and holidays.
• Travel within the assigned market and on-call areas.
• A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Required).
• Vocational/Technical Training or a related field is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in Field Operations and maintenance is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in wireless telecommunications or a related field is preferred.
• Basic understanding of electronics and interconnecting circuits, including RF transmitters, antenna systems, AAV, fiber, microwave radio, and AC-DC power systems.
• Practical knowledge of Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture, components, and operations.
• Familiarity with wireless backhaul technologies and configurations, such as microwave and fiber-based solutions.
• Experience with RAN equipment and 5G NR standards, or the ability to learn.
• Working knowledge of base station equipment, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Commitment to ongoing training, certifications, and hands-on skill development.
• Understanding of disaster recovery protocols and contingency plans.
• Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues across hardware and software systems.
• Capability to plan, coordinate, and execute field assignments while managing time, resources, and priorities.
• Ability to offer hands-on technical assistance and field-level support.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar productivity tools.
• Understanding of Internet Protocol and a willingness to utilize AI-driven tools.
• Capability to operate fiber test, line, and antenna test equipment is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach is preferred.
• Basic leadership abilities and the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks is preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment is preferred.
• Adaptability to changing environments and priorities is preferred.
• Flexibility in working hours, including day and night shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation (Required).
• Ability to lift between 50-70 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions (Required).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Travel is required.
