Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in the research and data collection for row crops, rangeland, timber, and similar fields.

• Travel across the country to designated field sites and gather precise field data.

• Collaborate with farmers, ranchers, landowners, and other stakeholders concerning property access and field operations.

• Perform physical soil sampling in accordance with relevant regulations.

• Utilize hand-operated and automated sensor equipment safely and efficiently.

• Adhere to protocols related to sampling, safety, data quality, equipment, and field operations.

• Record necessary field data, activities, and sample details accurately.

• Manage and transport field equipment provided by EarthOptics.

• Safely operate, load, unload, and transport assigned vehicles and equipment.

• Prepare, label, pack, and send samples to specified laboratories.

• Report on assignment progress, field conditions, equipment issues, and other pertinent information to the Operations Manager and internal teams.

• Fulfill production, quality, safety, and equipment maintenance expectations.

• Assist fellow technicians and partners with troubleshooting equipment, sampling, data collection, and workflow inquiries.

• Support the training and onboarding of Field Technicians and partners regarding field procedures, equipment use, safety measures, sampling protocols, and data quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• Ability to perform physical tasks in outdoor settings and varying climates.

• Regularly lift over 50 pounds.

• Skillfully capture data, particularly through soil sampling methods.

• Operate, load, unload, and transport various vehicles, including trucks, trailers, ATVs, UTVs, and company equipment.

• Proficient in the use of trailers or towing apparatus.

• Capable of managing independent work while traveling, including extended trips and overnight stays lasting up to 10 days.

• Proficient in using laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other electronic devices.

• Note that visa sponsorship or transfer is not available.
