This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Oversee and provide guidance to HVAC field service technicians involved in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of HVAC systems for data centers.
• Create and execute service protocols and best practices for HVAC operations within data centers.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, government regulations, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with data center project managers and stakeholders on preventive maintenance, system failures, and tailored solutions.
• Monitor and enhance inventory to ensure service vehicles are equipped with necessary parts and tools.
• Work with sales and marketing teams to formulate HVAC service strategies for data centers.
• Manage customer feedback through the C2 customer complaint system.
• Assist in promoting Services sales initiatives, tools, and objectives.
• Offer feedback to Service Sales regarding scope definitions and cost assessments, and share potential leads.
• Provide insights to Service Engineering on the quality and availability of technical support.
• Share leads with Sales Project Managers and Service Sales teams.
• Engage in recruitment efforts.
• Counsel supervisors on scheduling conflicts, service challenges, equipment issues, employee matters, and other job-related concerns.
• Conduct orientation for new hires, field training, and continuous education.
• Implement field quality assurance inspections.
• Handle back-office service administration tasks, including timesheet entry, expense report reviews and approvals, as well as service report preparation and evaluation.
• 5-7 years of significant experience in the HVAC industry, particularly in data center settings.
• At least 3 years in a leadership position managing a team of technicians.
• In-depth understanding of the specific needs and challenges related to data center HVAC systems.
• Strong grasp of data center infrastructure and operational procedures.
• Experience with advanced monitoring and management systems utilized in data centers.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills combined with a keen attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel on short notice to various site locations as needed.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with data center certifications such as CDCMP, CDCP, or equivalent is advantageous.
• Relevant HVAC certifications; EPA Certification is highly preferred.
• Strong preference for experience with refrigeration and controls.
• Proficient in computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and customer service capabilities.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Clean driving record and readiness to travel frequently to various job sites.
• Capability to perform medium work, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly.
• Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift.
• Close visual acuity for data preparation, computer terminal viewing, and extensive reading.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check, if applicable.
