Field Support Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Install, repair, upgrade, and conduct preventative maintenance on specified Carl Zeiss Meditec instruments within a designated field service area.

• Represent Carl Zeiss Meditec at customer sites.

• Strive to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.

• Manage company-issued assets, including inventory, tools, diagnostic equipment, and vehicles, in accordance with company policies.

• Maintain professional communication with team members, customers, management, sales, and technical support.

• Travel within the US and internationally for training, meetings, exhibit support, and coverage beyond the assigned territory.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, Computer Technology, or related fields is preferred.

• A+ and Net+ certifications are preferred.

• Ability to analyze complex customer issues and achieve satisfactory resolutions.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal management oversight.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Proficient computer skills are required.

• Ability to complete necessary training to service fine mechanics and optics.

• Capability to effectively service the equipment on which training has been provided.

• Skills in managing multiple projects and time effectively are required.

• Extensive overnight travel is necessary, both by automobile and air.

• Must be willing to travel within the US and internationally for training, meetings, exhibit support, and coverage beyond the assigned territory.

• Must be able to obtain sufficient credit to cover reimbursable business expenses.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

• Ability to drive an average of four (4) hours per day for service calls.

• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Approximately thirty percent of the average workday will involve standing or walking.
