Field Support Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Execute installation, repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on designated Carl Zeiss Meditec equipment within a specified field service area.

• Serve as the representative of Carl Zeiss Meditec at client sites, ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction.

• Identify and resolve issues with assigned products, including performing preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades.

• Organize, create, confirm, and/or adjust customer visits by evaluating their needs.

• Complete and file daily field service reports.

• Complete and submit weekly expense reports.

• Manage spare parts inventory and return specific spare parts in accordance with company policy.

• Foster revenue growth by promoting and retaining service agreements.

• Interact with customers in a professional, courteous, and calm manner.

• Educate customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

• Maintain company-issued testing equipment, supporting tools, and spare parts.

• Install and service equipment at trade shows as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Electronics, Fine Mechanics, Optics, or Medical Field Service.

• A Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or Computer Technology, or related fields is preferred.

• A+ and Net+ certifications are preferred.

• Ability to analyze challenging customer issues and achieve satisfactory resolutions.

• Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal management supervision.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Proficient computer skills are required.

• Must be able to successfully complete training to service fine mechanics and optics.

• Capability to effectively service equipment relevant to completed training.

• Strong project management and time management skills are necessary.

• Significant overnight travel by car and air is required.

• Must be willing to travel within the U.S. and internationally for training, meetings, exhibit support, and coverage beyond the assigned territory.

• The Field Service Engineer must be able to obtain sufficient credit to cover incurred business expenses, which will be reimbursed upon submission and approval of expense reports.

• Must be capable of driving an average of four (4) hours daily for service calls.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Approximately thirty percent of the workday is spent standing or walking.
