Field Specialist – Data Lakehouse

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Spearhead customer engagements by crafting and showcasing scalable, cloud-native lakehouse architectures and business outcomes.

• Offer domain expertise throughout the sales process, aiding in PoCs, solution sizing, and customer adoption.

• Emphasize self-service BI, open table formats like Iceberg, and AI-ready data analytics.

• Resolve complex issues related to query performance, concurrent workload management, and data federation.

• Provide leadership and guidance during technical escalations.

• Promote internal and external technical enablement through exploration of analytical engines, educational resources, and sharing best practices.

• Shape the product roadmap by converting customer feedback and regional needs into actionable insights.

• Act as a Cloudera ambassador through community initiatives, event speaking, and knowledge dissemination.

• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure customer success and align with product vision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading and executing mission-critical data warehousing and BI implementations in sectors such as Financial Services, Retail, Healthcare, and Public Sector.

• Proven track record in designing, constructing, and deploying enterprise-grade data lakehouses and big data analytics platforms on cloud-native architectures.

• Practical expertise with Apache Iceberg, Trino, Apache Hive, and Apache Impala.

• Strong foundation in architecting production data deployments across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

• Proficiency in large-scale BI, ad-hoc analytics, and establishing an AI-ready data foundation.

• Documented success in running PoCs and MVPs leading to enterprise-grade production deployments.

• Experience in ensuring high-concurrency query performance and cost optimization.

• Skilled in designing data-intensive architectures, encompassing data modeling, security, data quality, and governance.

• Outstanding presentation abilities and comfort engaging SQL developers, data analysts, and senior executives.

• Capability to analyze data warehouse workloads and define technical migration or modernization roadmaps.

• Bonus: pre-sales or technical consulting experience focused on big data, data warehousing, and AI platform solutions.

• Bonus: familiarity with Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, or Teradata along with migration strategies.

• Bonus: experience with dbt, Star Schema, Data Vault, and query optimization for distributed object storage.

• Bonus: interest in open-source software and development methodologies.

• Bonus: knowledge of CDW, CML, and SDX.
