
Field Services Operations Leader – Central West

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Oversee the daily operations and performance of field service technicians.
• Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and allocation of resources.
• Offer on-site guidance, coaching, and technical assistance to field staff.
• Track technician performance, productivity, service standards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Engage in the hiring, onboarding, and continuous development of field service personnel.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality services in accordance with ABB ELSE standards, safety protocols, and customer expectations.
• Aid in resolving escalated service issues alongside technical experts and management.
• Foster strong customer relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and problem-solving.
• Review service reports, documentation, and compliance records.
• Promote ABB's safety culture and adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Conduct field audits, job observations, and safety inspections.
• Support quality assurance initiatives and necessary corrective actions.
• Analyze service data to identify trends and suggest improvements in processes, tools, and workflows.
• Assist in the implementation of new programs, technologies, and operational strategies.
• Manage inventory, tools, and equipment preparedness.
• Contribute to budget planning, cost management, and efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience in field service, technical service operations, maintenance, or a similar industrial/technical setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience in team leadership, coordination, or supervisory roles.
• Strong grasp of field service operations, safety practices, and principles of customer service.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel within the Central Area Territory as necessary.
• Experience with industrial equipment, electrical systems, automation, or energy solutions.
• Familiarity with ABB products, service processes, or enterprise systems.
• Demonstrated capability to coach and develop field personnel.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret service data and performance metrics.
