Field Service Technician – Surface Drills

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain the mechanical and electrical systems of rotary and surface drill mining equipment and their components.

• Commission new machinery and deliver training at customer locations with minimal oversight.

• Evaluate equipment for optimal performance and identify faults and issues.

• Modify equipment and repair or replace any faulty parts, components, or systems.

• Conduct tests on repaired equipment to verify proper operational functionality.

• Accurately complete time records, technical documentation, failure reports, and parts inventories.

• Engage in initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

• Stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, product advancements, and technical best practices.

• Cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external customers.

• Adhere to safety policies set by Sandvik, customers, and local and federal regulations.

• Ensure customer satisfaction within the designated area.

• Travel by truck or air at least 50% of the time within the Colorado market.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong background in mechanical or electrical systems along with diagnostic capabilities.

• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical disciplines, or equivalent professional field/technical experience.

• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.

• Experience with mining equipment.

• Technical expertise in diesel and electrical systems.

• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics.

• Must adhere to ISO standards.

• Safety-oriented, able to work independently, and capable of halting work when necessary.

• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without employer sponsorship.

• Comfortable working in underground and surface environments.
