Field Engineering Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage and direct the safety, efficiency, quality, and performance of crew personnel involved in advanced diagnostics for underground medium- and high-voltage power cables.

• Ensure the effective utilization of instrumentation, equipment, and diagnostic methodologies.

• Supervise work crews and evaluate the integrity and technical quality of diagnostic data.

• Prepare for field assignments utilizing pre-project and project plan information.

• Develop daily project plans in collaboration with customer field supervisors.

• Deliver on-site training to customers regarding safety, testing equipment, and testing procedures.

• Inspect testing environments for variables that could impact cable performance and diagnostic outcomes.

• Guide customers and contractors on-site while implementing necessary preparatory or corrective measures.

• Identify and lead field approaches to satisfy customer needs and resolve issues.

• Foster positive relationships with various customer representatives.

• Conduct advanced cable diagnostics at customer locations within the U.S. utility market.

• Diagnose and repair both diagnostic and electromechanical equipment and systems.

• Operate cutting-edge diagnostic equipment and gather on-site testing data.

• Analyze on-site data using partial discharge principles to determine its relevance for meaningful analysis.

• Achieve field performance standards and execute cable matching procedures.

• Document technical and administrative information related to diagnostics.

• Elevate critical technical and administrative matters to the remote support team.

• Adhere to company technical, administrative, safety, and deadline standards.

• Participate in mandatory meetings, training sessions, and scheduled activities.

• Lead the assistant crew in cable reliability management tasks, including mitigation and splicing.

• Manage the movement and upkeep of supplies and inventory for the Mobile Diagnostic Unit.

• Provide mentorship training to other field associates when assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

• A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a similar discipline is advantageous.

• A minimum of one year of experience in power utilities field service is preferred.

• Experience with testing both low-voltage and high-voltage power systems is beneficial.

• Understanding of the principles of electrical and electronic engineering and systems.

• Familiarity with the basics of analog and digital signal processing theory.

• Ability to meet all certification and safety/compliance requirements promptly.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.

• Capability to work in diverse, challenging, and unpredictable field environments.

• Skills in troubleshooting and repairing analog and digital circuitry, high-frequency and fiber optic interfaces, computer subsystems, and electromechanical equipment.

• Proficiency in operating advanced diagnostic equipment.

• Knowledge of partial discharge principles and cable matching procedures.
