Field Service Technician, Surface Drills

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain both mechanical and electrical components of rotary and surface drill mining equipment at various mining locations.

• Set up new equipment and deliver training at customer locations with minimal oversight.

• Evaluate equipment performance to identify faults and malfunctions.

• Modify equipment and repair or replace faulty parts, components, or systems.

• Assess repaired equipment to confirm proper operational functionality.

• Maintain accurate records including time logs, technical reports, failure documentation, and parts inventories.

• Engage in initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

• Keep up-to-date with developments in the industry, customer needs, product advancements, and technical best practices.

• Cultivate relationships with both internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and enhance customer satisfaction.

• Adhere to Sandvik, customer, state, and federal safety regulations.

• Ensure customer satisfaction within the designated area of responsibility.

• Serve the Colorado market, with occasional travel by truck or air.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong background in mechanical or electrical fields along with excellent diagnostic abilities.

• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical disciplines, or equivalent years of relevant professional experience.

• At least 5 years of industry-related experience.

• Experience with mining equipment.

• Knowledge of diesel and electrical systems.

• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

• Must comply with ISO standards.

• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to work independently and halt work when necessary.

• Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting equipment schematics.

• Proven success in team settings and strong communication skills.

• Authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without employer sponsorship.

• Comfortable working both underground and on the surface.

• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
