This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Diagnose, service, install, deploy, and repair Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment at client locations.
• Travel daily to various sites in and around the Washington, DC area, including Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
• Maintain accurate field service logs and job documentation.
• Conduct follow-up calls with customers to ensure their satisfaction.
• Address daily service repair requirements and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with clients and nurture positive customer relationships.
• Provide customer training as necessary.
• Respond to both emergency and non-scheduled service requests.
• Complete scheduled maintenance within established timelines.
• Document inspections, maintenance, and repair activities, submitting necessary paperwork promptly.
• Order, install, and return parts, managing the repair-parts cycle time.
• Keep accurate inventories of parts and tools.
• Review logs for unresolved issues and prepare formal reports for customers.
• Engage in Service Sales opportunities and support revenue initiatives.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and testing equipment.
• Evaluate equipment performance using field-support data and suggest modifications or enhancements.
• Provide technical assistance to customers and other service professionals.
• Participate in site surveys, pilot service programs, meetings, special projects, and report creation as needed.
• Develop relationships with senior Field Service Technicians and Product Managers to address customer needs and remain updated on technical advancements.
• Manage and reduce costs while maximizing revenue.
• Submit expenses, time sheets, and administrative documents within designated timelines.
• Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Associate’s Degree, relevant trade certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical), or military training in electrical, mechanical, or electronics.
• 1–3 years of relevant electrical or mechanical field service experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
• 1–3 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
• Proficient in computer skills and competent with all applications in the MS Office Suite.
• Aptitude for mastering specialized software applications.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
• Willingness and capability to travel on short notice.
• Ability to respond to emergency and non-scheduled service requests within set response times.
• Must maintain up-to-date technical certifications.
• Must successfully undergo TSA vetting for Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access.
• Must successfully complete a federal background investigation.
• Must be able to lift/carry 80 lbs.
• Must be able to push/pull 200 lbs.
• Must be capable of moving/manipulating equipment weighing up to 1,000 lbs with assistance from approved devices.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, and work in unconventional positions.
• Capability to work safely in extreme environments and around hazardous industrial equipment.
• Must comply with U.S. export control and security regulations.
• Must be willing to travel, work overtime, and be available outside standard Monday–Friday hours when necessary.
