
Field Service Technician, HVAC – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Travel to client locations for the installation, commissioning, and safe troubleshooting and repair of Data Center equipment.
• Execute factory start-up, commissioning, warranty, and billable services on Munters Data Center equipment and systems.
• Safeguard and maintain Munters equipment and property.
• Respond swiftly to service requests from customers and management.
• Deliver training to customers on the use of Munters equipment.
• Compile detailed field service reports and provide technical feedback regarding equipment.
• Offer immediate responses to customer needs as part of the Field Service team.
• Oversee onsite projects during start-up and commissioning phases, coordinating with other trades and services.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience and substantial expertise in the Mechanical field, particularly in HVAC.
• Frequent travel is required, up to 90%, throughout the USA by both plane and car.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, with the capability to proficiently diagnose electrical issues and document findings.
• Familiarity with all safety protocols and training in Arc flash, lockout/tagout, and other safety regulations.
• Knowledge of PPE associated with electrical safety and its proper utilization.
• Comprehensive understanding of refrigeration, encompassing pressure testing, evacuation, charging, troubleshooting, and diagnosis.
• Skilled in brazing and soldering techniques.
• Possession of a universal refrigeration certification.
• Strong background in Controls, including troubleshooting, programming, or downloading to control systems.
• Understanding of PLCs and proficiency in accessing PLC information and making necessary adjustments.
• Capability to connect a computer to a PLC for communication and modifications.
• State Licensed Master HVAC mechanic (optional).
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Self-driven, with the capacity to work independently.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with site personnel, Sales PM, Service Manager, and Technical Support staff.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school education preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly.
• Capable of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Close visual acuity required for data preparation and analysis, computer terminal usage, and extensive reading.
• Required to wear specified personal protective equipment.
• Willingness to travel and be away from home for several days at a time.
• Openness to on-call duties.
• Willingness to occasionally work weekends and/or holidays.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness and capability to work at heights of 6 feet or more.
