This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the on-site implementation of new UVeye system installations, from site readiness through testing, commissioning, and customer handover.
• Lead designated installations and manage third-party contractors.
• Act as the primary technical contact on-site for customers.
• Evaluate site readiness, layouts, technical specifications, and infrastructure conditions.
• Install, configure, test, and validate UVeye hardware along with supporting systems.
• Diagnose hardware, software, networking, electrical, and mechanical issues.
• Conduct preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance at customer locations.
• Ensure on-site safety, recognize hazards, enforce PPE usage, and report unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Support, Engineering, Customer Success, and other internal teams.
• Complete documentation for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and service activities.
• Identify recurring field issues and provide insights to enhance installation processes, system reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, Field Engineer, Field Technician, or in a similar role that involves hardware/software installation, deployment, or maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience in leading contractors or teams during technical installations.
• Strong practical skills in civil works, networking, electrical wiring, and mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and fundamental networking principles.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to produce clear installation, service, and maintenance documentation.
• Previous experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk, or similar software for interpreting site layouts.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Strong commitment to safety practices.
• Ability to be resilient and adaptable in dynamic field environments.
• Willingness and ability to meet travel requirements.
• Valid driving license.
• Experience in a startup or rapidly growing company is preferred.
• Certified electrician qualification or relevant electrical experience is advantageous.
• A degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferable.
• Experience with CAD software is a plus.
• Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
• Additional knowledge in scripting, networking, or advanced troubleshooting is beneficial.
• Extensive travel to customer and installation sites throughout the UK and Europe is required.
• Weekly overnight travel is an essential component of the role.
• Ability to occasionally work outside standard business hours.
• Capability to stand or walk for extended periods, bend, reach, and occasionally manually handle equipment and tools weighing up to 40 kg.
• Ability to adhere to site safety protocols and utilize PPE when necessary.
