Field Service Technician – Heavy Equipment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Fleet Director.

• Identify, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on a substantial fleet of earthmoving machinery.

• Diagnose and fix electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on excavators, loaders, trenchers, forklifts, and other equipment.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while executing work tasks.

• Carry out preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all fleet vehicles.

• Execute mechanical repairs following the inspection and analysis of breakdowns.

• Document comprehensive repair details on work orders, including the appropriate equipment model, serial number, and hour meter reading.

• Lubricate moving components and operate repaired machinery to ensure compliance with specifications.

• Uphold a professional appearance and maintain cleanliness of oneself and the service truck.

• Sustain an acceptable driving record while complying with all CDL-related laws and regulations.

• Execute additional tasks assigned by the Manager.

• Travel frequently to project locations across various states, often staying at assignments for extended durations before moving to other projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.

• Possess a Technical School Certificate and 2 years of relevant work experience, or 5 years of relevant experience.

• Hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

• Proven record of safe and dependable work practices.

• Demonstrated capability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy earthmoving equipment.

• Familiarity with equipment operations and mechanical functions.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.

• Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.

• Capability to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, standing, kneeling, sitting, grasping, twisting, and climbing stairs/ladders.

• Availability to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.
