Field Service Technician B

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with seasoned Field Service Representatives to repair, test, and maintain Wescam MX-Series airborne surveillance turrets.

• Acquire foundational knowledge of electro-optical and electro-mechanical systems, which include sensors, optics, and stabilization components.

• Support the repair, testing, and preventive maintenance of Wescam MX Series gimbal turret systems.

• Enhance troubleshooting abilities for electronic and mechanical issues.

• Learn to operate electronic and mechanical testing equipment safely and effectively.

• Develop an understanding of aircraft integration concepts associated with the MX product line.

• Adhere to maintenance procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.

• Recognize situations that deviate from standard procedures and escalate them as necessary.

• Perform tasks under the general supervision of senior technicians and FSRs.

• Engage with the department and team to pinpoint issues and collaboratively devise solutions.

• Achieve proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing Wescam MX sensor systems within 90 days.

• Complete a potential formal two-week MX training followed by comprehensive on-the-job training.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of related experience.

• Some post-secondary education or coursework in electronics, avionics, engineering technology, or a related discipline.

• Practical experience with electronic or mechanical systems is advantageous.

• Familiarity with testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of electrical or mechanical principles.

• Capability to operate under general supervision and adhere to established procedures within defined limits.

• Ability to identify simple problems or issues and take appropriate initial action.

• Willingness to receive moderate peer review and utilize feedback for improvement.

• Effective communication skills within a team environment.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.

• Willingness to travel 90% of the time.

• Potential for international travel, including deployment to remote or potentially hazardous overseas locations, may arise as the employee progresses in their role.
