Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate advanced machinery at customer sites.

• Exhibit exceptional customer service skills with a strong sense of enthusiasm and commitment.

• Acquire new competencies on high-tech CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing both mechanical and electronic skills.

• Accurately complete and maintain necessary administrative documentation.

• Operate autonomously in a dynamic, high-pressure environment that fosters innovation.

• Travel extensively, approximately 90–100%, within the service region, including international trips as required.

• Assist in the installation and maintenance of custom equipment by enhancing processes.

• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional service teams to support and roll out ZEISS products in the field.

• Support the R&D department with engineering tasks related to design, construction, and testing of new systems.

• Aid in the production of systems during assembly and setup phases.

• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

• Alternatively, a degree from a Technical School, or an associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Electronics or Industrial Mechanics.

• Alternatively, training and experience from a Military Technical School will be considered.

• Previous experience using hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment is essential.

• Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems is mandatory.

• Must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds without assistance.

• Willingness to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including regular and overtime hours.

• Ability to thrive in an industrial production shop floor setting.

• A valid Driver's License is required.

• Strong communication skills and a customer service orientation are essential.

• Prior experience in installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machinery, or computer systems is preferred.

• Experience with CMM installation and troubleshooting is advantageous but not mandatory.
