Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conduct troubleshooting and provide training for customers on both new and existing machines.

• Commission new machines by testing and demonstrating equipment at client locations.

• Repair existing machinery at customer sites.

• Perform troubleshooting, service, maintenance, and repairs on machines.

• Travel 70–80% of the time to Canadian and international customer locations for machine startups, troubleshooting, repairs, and customer training.

• Recommend repair parts and suggest product enhancements.

• Educate and train customers on the proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.

• Prepare weekly records of travel expenses and field reports.

• Collaborate with engineering and/or production to address issues with new machines.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of equipment and processes.

• Work autonomously while establishing effective relationships with customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic is necessary.

• An Associate’s Degree is a plus.

• Training in troubleshooting PLC and/or CanBus systems is strongly preferred.

• General mechanical experience is required.

• Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems is essential.

• Ability to read and comprehend schematics.

• Capability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.

• Strong mechanical aptitude is necessary.

• Ability to interpret written, oral, or diagram instructions.

• Proficient in solving practical problems and managing variables.

• Ability to read and interpret business documents, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and professional journals.

• Capability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to effectively present information and answer questions.

• Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse personalities and build solid customer relationships.

• A valid driver’s license is required.

• A valid passport is necessary.

• Proficiency in French is preferred.
