This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with Roadway Work Equipment for clients.
• Provide training for customers on both new and existing equipment.
• Commission new machines, which includes training and demonstrating equipment at customer locations.
• Repair current equipment at client sites.
• Conduct service, maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment functions properly.
• Suggest repair parts and enhancements to products for customers.
• Guide and educate customers on the correct maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Compile weekly travel expense reports and field documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and/or production teams to address issues with new machines.
• Participate in ongoing improvement of equipment and processes.
• Operate independently and build strong relationships with customers.
• Travel to remote job locations.
• Work in proximity to moving mechanical parts and in environments with fumes, airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme temperatures.
• Regularly stand, climb, walk without assistance, sit, reach, use hands, and communicate verbally and audibly.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.
• Training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting is highly preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge and experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Capability to read schematics.
• Previous experience in the railroad industry is advantageous.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to understand written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.
• Competence in addressing practical problems and managing variables across different scenarios.
• Skill in reading and understanding business documents, technical procedures, schematics, governmental regulations, and professional publications.
• Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from managers, customers, suppliers, and the public.
• Capacity to work effectively with diverse personalities and cultivate strong customer relationships.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
• Willingness and ability to travel 70%-80% of the time.
