This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Conduct troubleshooting and provide training for customers on both new and existing machinery.
• Commission new machines, which includes testing and demonstrating equipment at client locations.
• Repair existing machinery at customer sites.
• Diagnose issues and perform service, maintenance, and repairs on machines.
• Travel over 80% to various Canadian and international customer locations for machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and customer training.
• Suggest repair parts and recommend product enhancements to clients.
• Educate and train customers on the correct maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Maintain weekly records of travel expenses and compile field reports.
• Collaborate with engineering and/or production teams to address issues with new machinery.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of equipment and operational processes.
• Work autonomously while establishing effective relationships with clients.
• Operate in proximity to moving mechanical components and within environments that may contain fumes, airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme temperatures.
• Travel to remote job locations.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.
• An Associate's Degree is an advantage.
• Strongly preferred: training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting.
• General mechanical expertise.
• Extensive knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Prior experience in the railroad industry is a plus.
• Skill in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Capability to understand written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.
• Proficiency in solving practical problems and managing variables in varying situations.
• Skill in reading and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, government regulations, and professional publications.
• Competence in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and address inquiries.
• Capacity to work with diverse personalities and foster strong customer relationships.
• Valid driver's license.
• Valid passport.
• French language skills are preferred.
• Willingness to travel 70–80% to both domestic and international locations.
