Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and provide training for customers on both new and existing machines.

• Commission new machines, which includes testing and showcasing new equipment at customer locations.

• Repair current equipment at customer facilities.

• Execute service, maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment functions properly.

• Travel 70–80% of the time to Canadian and international customer sites for machine startup, troubleshooting, repairs, and customer training.

• Suggest repair parts and product enhancements to clients.

• Guide and instruct customers on the correct maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.

• Compile weekly travel expense reports and field documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering and/or production teams to address issues with new machines.

• Participate in the ongoing improvement of equipment and processes.

• Operate independently and establish strong relationships with customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

• At least 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.

• An Associate's Degree is a plus.

• Strong preference for candidates with training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting.

• General mechanical experience is essential.

• Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

• Proficiency in reading schematics.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Skill in interpreting written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

• Capability to address practical problems and adapt to varying circumstances.

• Proficient in reading and understanding business documents, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and professional publications.

• Competent in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

• Ability to effectively present information and answer inquiries.

• Skilled at working with diverse personalities and fostering strong customer relationships.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• A valid passport is required.

• French speaking ability is preferred.
