Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conduct troubleshooting and provide customer training on both new and existing machines.

• Commission new machines into operation, which includes testing and demonstrating equipment at customer sites.

• Repair existing machinery on-site at customer locations.

• Diagnose machines and perform service, maintenance, and repairs as needed.

• Travel extensively to customer locations across Canada and internationally for machine startup, troubleshooting, repair, and customer training.

• Suggest repair parts and product enhancements to customers.

• Educate and guide customers on the proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.

• Compile weekly travel expense reports and field documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering and/or production teams to address issues with new machines.

• Participate in the ongoing improvement of equipment and processes.

• Work autonomously while establishing effective relationships with customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or an equivalent qualification.

• At least 5 years of experience as a mechanic for industrial or mobile heavy equipment.

• Extensive understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

• Proficient in reading schematics.

• Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.

• Possess mechanical aptitude.

• Capable of interpreting written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

• Able to tackle practical problems and manage variables in diverse situations.

• Competent in reading and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and professional publications.

• Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

• Ability to effectively present information and address inquiries.

• Skilled at working with a variety of personalities and building strong customer relationships.

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• A valid passport is required.

• Proficiency in French is preferred.

• Training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting is highly desirable.

• Previous experience in the railroad industry is advantageous.

• Willingness to travel 70–80% to domestic and international locations.
