Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and troubleshoot roadway work equipment for clients.

• Provide training to customers on both new and existing machinery.

• Commission new machines, which includes training and demonstrating the equipment at client locations.

• Conduct repairs on existing machinery at customer sites.

• Perform service, maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment operates effectively.

• Suggest repair parts and product enhancements to clients.

• Guide customers on the correct maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.

• Compile weekly travel expense reports and field documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering and/or production teams to resolve issues with new machines.

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of equipment and operational processes.

• Operate independently while fostering strong relationships with customers.

• Travel to remote job locations as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.

• At least 5 years of experience working as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.

• Training in PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting is highly preferred.

• General mechanical experience is essential.

• Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems is necessary.

• Proficiency in reading schematics is required.

• Previous experience in the railroad industry is advantageous.

• Ability to identify and resolve equipment issues effectively.

• Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.

• Capability to interpret written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.

• Aptitude for solving practical problems and managing variables in different scenarios.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, schematics, government regulations, and professional journals.

• Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

• Ability to present information and address inquiries from managers, customers, suppliers, and the general public.

• Competence in working effectively with diverse personalities and building robust customer relationships.

• A valid Driver’s License is mandatory.

• Willingness to travel 70%-80% of the time.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• Successful completion of a drug screening and fitness-for-duty test, where applicable.
