Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Execute the service, repair, and installation of products or IT solutions at client locations.

• Carry out electrical and mechanical testing as per maintenance agreements.

• Identify system malfunctions and propose cost-efficient solutions.

• Refer complex issues to higher-level technical support or quality reporting channels.

• Address customer support inquiries within the Western Region.

• Deliver technical support and field service for In-Situ Process Sensors and Analyzers, which include In-Situ, ChemScan, and Partech products.

• Conduct on-site installation, calibration, and training for process sensors and online water analysis instrumentation.

• Support customers through both remote and on-site service, as well as replacement parts.

• Collaborate with site owners and contractors to ensure successful equipment installation.

• Oversee regional customer relationships.

• Aid the Regional Sales Manager with technical support and pilot/demo projects.

• Participate in regular product and application training at an In-Situ Process facility.

• Keep an accurate inventory of field service kits.

• Draft comprehensive service reports detailing troubleshooting, parts utilized, and analyzer data.

• Assess unmet customer needs, promote service offerings, and assist with lead generation and service job closure.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Two years of experience in Troubleshooting & Diagnostics.

• Mechanical knowledge is essential.

• Strong technical foundation with proficient mechanical and electrical skills.

• Completion of a chemistry course with a fundamental understanding is required.

• Familiarity with industrial instrumentation, including a basic understanding of PLC equipment communication.

• Excellent communication skills are necessary.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office is required.

• Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time to customer locations.

• Capability to travel with and lift/carry a field service supply kit weighing between 50–65 pounds.

• Ability to perform tasks in noisy environments.

• Ability to work under adverse conditions, including inclement weather and extreme temperatures.

• Intermediate physical activity involving lifting, bending, squatting, walking, and navigating stairs.
